Description of MATA booth at Target Family Art Park:

The Maryland Art Therapy Association invites children and thier famiies to create art in response to their feelings. "My Feelings Are a Work of Art" will feature a background display of several posters depicting recognized artworks throughout history which employ colors, brushstrokes and images to evoke emotions in the child viewer. In addition graphic posters illustrating feelings with words and faces will guide children through the art-making.

Volunteers will assist children to choose an emotion, and a matching art material from 3 art stations: drawing, painting or found objects to complete 1 piece of artwork.

Children may leave their artworks to be displayed at the booth for pick up on Sunday during the drumming circle at 4pm.

Various handouts for parents prepared by AATA will be available. Art therapists with community practices are invited to bring and display thier services.
